1940S Vintage Green Black Bendix Catalin Tube Radio- condition - a highly prized american classic, this fabulous art deco radio is a must-have for serious collectors. This si the collectible marbleized green bendix aviation corporation catalin tube radio model 526-c. The traditional swirling is dramatic and marvelous on this vintage catalin radio the naturally-aged patina of forest green, kelly green and butterscotch is intermingled in dimensional and complex swirls. Working dial light glows from behidn the dial scale which also needs to be cleaned of surface dirt. This is not a plug adn play - the tuning string needs adjustment. We got reception with no hum, but because the guide string slips, you can only tune in one direction so the needle is currently all the way to the right. No chips, dings, hairlines, or cracks in the cabinet.
The only flaw to mention are some minor surface scuffs, plus 3 clear-colored drip marks (2 above the dial, see photo) and about 10 small, clear pimples (approx. 1 mm to 4 mm in size there is one example above left knob, ese photo). Stunning vintage deco styling with uniquely stylish wraparound black grille. A wonderful addition to any collection. Please do not bid if you live outside the us.
