Beautiful Working 1940S Philco Bakelite Tube Radio

Beautiful Working 1940s Philco Bakelite Tube Radio

Beautiful, working, 1940's philoc bakelite radio. It is an original, not a repro, i have seen this model made into some modern day plastic am/fm- cd player, but really who would want one, when you can own and original. This style of radio was produced in the 1946, 1948 and 1949 models years by philco.
I sold a 1948 model bakc in the mid-summer, this set is a model 46-420 and dates to 1946. Excellent luster, a gorgeous, marbled dark chocholate brown bakelite, subtly swirled ni lighter and darker shades.
No chips or cracks in the cabinet, photo shows reflections of the backdrop blanket, me, the dial, knobs, and my camera, there si no marring. Great deco styling, accented beautifully by the moondial which glows beautifully when the set is on.

Impeccibly clean, inside and out, it will pass the white glove test- a final detail cleaning is accomplished with q-tips. Unit has the original knobs, lower front pihlco decal, and dial lens. aMny sets have worn decals in addition to the fact that many restorers wipe off decals in the furvor of polishing.

The back is a professinoally made reproduction back, which fits as it should with the original clips. Plays loudly, clearly with good tone, no hum. Has good, safe, power cord and working dial light. The radio measures 11 inches long, 7 1/2 high, 6 1/2 deep. As with all my radios, the luster and sheen on the bakelite is natural, exhibiting the original characteristics of the bakelite when newly made.

No coatings (permanent or temporary), sprays, or oils are used to glam it up. All radios sold have had preventative electrical maintainence, so that they perform as well in the foreseeable future. As they do when you first get them.

I stand behind the components i've repaired, parts and labor- for 90 days. After that- free labor for 6 months.

Why would you bother with someone who says they've restored the radio and then tell you you are buying as is- and why would someone's warrantee be worth anything if you can't find them again on ebay? The insides of my radios are given the same attention as the outsides. Celebrating ten years on ebay- selling beautiful, working radios on ebay continuously, since 1998. Each radio is packed in a way to guarantee that you won't be filing an insurance claim.

Buyer pays shipping, $23 insured ground in us, more elsewhere. Paypal. Com is accepted, please see other radios for sale- this week a 1930's silvertone tombstone wood set, in my no reserve auctions, and other bakelite and wood sets, and in my new fixed price, buy it now, ebay store.
