Philco 84 Catherdral Radio Exc WorksHere is another beautiful cathedral radio for your consideration. This one is a philco 84 cathedral of 1934-35. These are 4 tube bc band radios which are regenerative superheterodynes. This particular radio was recently restored by myseld with new in blocks capacitors, new underchassis electrolytic capactors, alignment and prolonged test play. The dial lamp is new, the grillcloth a correct reproduction from john okolowicz, the knobs original, the finish new. The controls were cleaned and lubricated, and tubes all checked as good. The radio is a strong player, receiving numerous stations using a wire antenna here in my remote upstate ny location. There are no special effects such as hum, squeaks, squawks, or heterodynes. There si plenty of volume! All the coils are original and none required rewinding. The radio will eb carefully packed to survive the trip and is ready to use, display and enjoy.
